

We have some exciting news to share!! For the past few months, we have been working with Soulheart to redesign our Children of Hope website, and it is now up and running!!
We were intentional about the site being engaging and professional but also fun and colorful. We are thrilled with the results!
As you take a peek, you will see we included things like:
- Fresh information
- Beautiful Photos
- Updated facts and photos of each child
- Brand-new Video Page


One of our goals was to convey the joyful and family-like environment that is a fundamental part of our homes. We hope you will experience just a fraction of that joy as you navigate through each page. We think the big grins and bright environment will undoubtedly bring a smile to your face.
If you wonder where we acquired these amazing photos, most of them are from two sources:
Jensen Sutta – Jensen is an award winning, world-traveling, kind-hearted, gifted photographer who graciously captured images of our Kenyan family back in November 2024. Jensen can be found photographing some of the most famous stars and political leaders, but he says this: “My passion is meeting and interacting with new and interesting people and organizations and capturing the impact they’re making. There are a lot of people in this world making a real difference and it makes me happy to share their story.” Thank you, Jensen!

Freddy Okango – Freddy is one of our very own Children of Hope transitioned kids. Freddy graduated from KCA University with a diploma in Film Technology. He is a very talented photographer and videographer who we hire often to provide us with remarkable images. Thanks so much, Freddy! (See last month’s newsletter for more on Freddy.)

We filled our website with things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy – mostly our beautiful children and staff! Enjoy yourselves as you explore all things new!
Philippians 4:8, “ Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

Susan Chemtai started working for our Kitalale home back in 2011 as a housekeeper. After a few years, she was promoted to Mum – a role she cherishes and feels called to. Children of Hope has allowed Auntie Susan to provide a good life for her three daughters: her 22-year-old is in college, her 19-year-old will start college in the fall, and her youngest is in fifth grade.

In Susan’s Words

It is not that I have any secret to being a mum, it’s just that the children know me. I love them and they know it. They feel secure in me as their mom – they are protected and free to be who God made them to be.
I have cared for many babies over the years, now Henry is my boy. I like training the children when they start to walk. When they stand up, I put my hand behind their neck and give them a little nudge. Once they take a few steps, I remove my hand, and they don’t even know it. They are off with a newfound independence, but stay close-by and follow me, making sure I am within reach. I love being a part of this milestone in their little lives.
The story of Precious is one that really touched my heart. When Precious came to us, she was a very sickly little baby. Her biological mom was mentally ill so Precious was being fed mostly just sugar. We thanked God she was with us and we started to feed her healthy food, take her to the doctor, hold her, and care for her in every way. Now, when I look at the stubborn, tall, 13-year-old, girl she has become, it makes me so happy! She is walking courageously – so loving and beautiful. I learned something from the life of Precious: that God has a purpose for each and every child. It doesn’t matter their background – God has a plan for each one.


I am also very proud of Alex who will be graduating from college in the fall. I have done all I can as a mum to help him succeed. He is doing well, getting all As in school and achieving his full potential. Taking care of these children is a blessing, but it is not easy – it is a calling. We ask God to help us transform children for their bright futures.
When I have free time, I love to make beaded bracelets and decorations. I thank God that I have shown the children how to do this. They can use this knowledge in college and sell their creations to earn some pocket money. I even added the beadwork to my dress and made bracelets for our visitors!
