Elaine has been with Children of Hope® since its inception in 2006. From a young age she has had a strong passion for those in need of an advocate. Elaine has served in a variety of nonprofit roles for over 20 years. After spending many years in the corporate world, including positions as finance manager and director of billing operations, Elaine is thrilled to be the COO of Children of Hope®. At Children of Hope®, Elaine can combine her true passion with her everyday work life.
Emily joined the Children of Hope® staff in late 2015. She came to COH after working in the social services arena for six years, seeing firsthand the needs of kids and families. Emily is following her passion while serving orphaned children in Kenya through her talents and expertise. She brings a vivacious spirit to her role as the Director of Donor Relations. Her heart combined with her administrative gifts are a tremendous asset to the Children of Hope® team.
Marcy Decker joined the Children of Hope team in October of 2018. Marcy has a BA in Business Management from Greenville University and has worked for many other ministries and non-profits over the past 20 years. Marcy’s skills in bookkeeping, event planning and administration have been a great addition to our team. Aside from spending time with her husband and three children, Marcy enjoys watching baseball, going to rodeos, hiking and travelling.
Abraham has been with Children of Hope® since 2009 when he became an accountant for us. He now serves as our Director of Finance and Business Operations and oversees the financial and business affairs for both of our homes. Abraham received his Masters of Business Administration, Accounting, and Finance from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in 2013. He is married and has two children. In addition to handling our financial affairs he is a positive male role model for our children and is an attentive and loving person in their lives.
Sharna is the wife of John Coors and the mother of 10 children, 6 of whom are adopted from various cultures. She and John have 10 grandchildren, with many more to follow. Sharna and John are the founders of Children of Hope® and they have a deep passion and love for orphans around the world.
Rebecca Coors lives in Northern Colorado with her husband, Shane, and 6 kids. She is blessed with one adopted daughter from Ethiopia and a heart to care for other orphans in their native lands.
Karla has a degree in engineering from Colorado School of Mines and has over 30 years professional experience including a long background focused on acquisition and divestiture transactions, as well as work evaluating and managing private equity investments, in the energy industry. A native Coloradan and avid musician with a heart for ministry, Karla enjoys exploring the Rocky Mountains and leading worship music for a community woman’s bible study.
Russ is the Executive Director of Sagemark Consulting Private Wealth Services of Lincoln Financial Advisors (LFA). His primary area of expertise lies within the high net worth market. Russ is responsible for the development of key concepts and strategies that will have a significant impact on the financial lives of these individuals and families. He has distinguished himself specifically in the areas of life insurance, estate, business owner planning and investment strategies for affluent business owners and individuals. Russ speaks across the country at various financial planning meetings and events.
Jill Richman loves to cook and spend time with her family. She is passionate about youth and encourages young women to reach for the stars and lean on Jesus Christ as their Savior. Jill loves children of all ages, shapes, sizes and colors!
Mark Sunderhuse is the Founder and Managing Director of Red Rocks Capital. Mr. Sunderhuse has over 25 years of professional investment experience. He was previously a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Berger Financial Group. Prior to Berger, Mr. Sunderhuse co-founded Crestone Capital, where he managed $750 million in institutional small cap growth equity products and headed the investment committee at United Banks of Colorado (now Wells Fargo). Mr. Sunderhuse is also a governing board member of the Fire and Police Pension Association of Colorado and sits on the board for Energy Outreach Colorado.
Heidi Wellsandt has an intensely passionate heart for adoption and for ensuring that orphaned children are cared for well. Heidi lives in the state of of Pennsylvania and has 8 children, 4 biological and 4 adopted.
It truly takes a village and in our case, it’s thanks in large part to our wonderful volunteers and donors.
