Kristy Ashby
Kristy joined the Children of Hope team in April of 2023. She has always had a heart for Africa and loves to encourage the overlooked. She has 20+ years in leadership experience with Community Bible Study, an ability to build relationships, and a reliance on the LORD. These qualities serve her well as she writes communication pieces and reaches out to supporters in her role at Children of Hope. She considers it a joy and honor to be a part of this ministry that invests in and changes lives – all to the glory of God!
Marcy Decker
Director of Operations – US
Marcy Decker
Marcy joined the Children of Hope team in October of 2018. Marcy has a BA in Business Management from Greenville University and has worked for many other ministries and non-profits over the past 20 years. She feels blessed to be part of the work God is doing in Kenya among the children and loves her behind-the-scenes role that focuses on accounting, budgeting, and operations. Marcy, her husband, and their three children call Colorado home.
Abraham Kiboki

Abraham Kiboki
Abraham has been with Children of Hope since October 2008. He started as an Accountant but now serves as Director of Operations – Kenya. His role is to oversee the day-to-day operations of both homes in Kenya. This includes the operational details but also building strong relationships with the children and the staff which is what truly sets him apart as a great leader. He holds an MBA (Finance) from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology. Abraham is passionate about raising children to be God-fearing and successful citizens.

Dr. John Coors
Over the past fifty years, Dr. John Coors, now retired, has served in leadership roles across various Coors-family businesses and has been instrumental in starting many ministries, Children of Hope being one of them. While visiting rural Kenya, he and his wife, Sharna, were moved with compassion by the needs they discovered among the children. They founded Children of Hope in 2007 with the vision of building a home where the orphaned and abandoned children of Kenya would grow up surrounded by love and opportunity. He has recently stepped into the position of Chairman of the Board and is now using his experience to support Children of Hope in fulfilling that vision.
Mark Sunderhuse

Mark Sunderhuse
Mark Sunderhuse is the Founder and Managing Director of Red Rocks Capital. Mr. Sunderhuse has over 25 years of professional investment experience. He was previously a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Berger Financial Group. Prior to Berger, Mr. Sunderhuse co-founded Crestone Capital, where he managed $750 million in institutional small cap growth equity products and headed the investment committee at United Banks of Colorado (now Wells Fargo). Mr. Sunderhuse is also a governing board member of the Fire and Police Pension Association of Colorado and sits on the board for Energy Outreach Colorado.
Heidi Stevenson

Heidi Stevenson
In 2008, Heidi participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for our home in Kitalale, Kenya and has been part of the team ever since. She is passionate in her belief that all children should be advocated for as if they are one’s own. Heidi has a Master’s Degree in Developmental Psychology and devotes her time to raising her eight children, four of whom are adopted. Her greatest hope is that all will know Jesus and have His eyes for the world.
Sarah Ritz

Sarah Ritz
Sarah Ritz has been involved with Children of Hope since 2006 and has traveled to Kenya many times to visit our children. Her big heart and love of the Lord have been great assets to the Children of Hope Board. She and her husband Bryan live in Highlands Ranch, CO and stay very busy with their seven children, four biological and three adopted.
Molly Cipiti

Molly Cipiti is a strategic connector in business consulting and community spaces. She loves to design creative solutions and develop flourishing for all areas of life. She and her husband, Jonathan, together with their two dogs, love to explore, create beauty, and run after Jesus to bring His Kingdom on Earth.
Colleen Smith

Colleen Smith
Colleen grew up in Colorado and is the grandmother of seven who are all 6th generation Colorado natives. She loves to give her time to causes that touch her heart, Children of Hope being one of her favorites. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts for Interior Design and uses her gifting in this area to create beautiful, personalized spaces. She is a voracious reader and avid traveler; however, her favorite time is spent with her kids, her seven grandkids, and her large extended family. She is honored to serve on the Board of Children of Hope.
Britta Apple

Britta Apple
Britta Apple has been involved with Children of Hope since 2010, leading student teams to the CoH homes in Kenya for many summers. She extended her stay for a few of those summers to teach English classes at the nearby Kenyan seminary. Britta taught high school English for 11 years and now has the privilege of staying home with her three wonderful children. She and her husband, Jacob, are reveling in the joy and chaos of these early years with young kids and enjoy getting up to the mountains as much as possible.
Trish Anderson

Trish Anderson
Trish first visited Children of Hope in the spring of 2009, shortly after they opened and welcomed their first children to the home. She had the privilege of traveling to Kenya and serving at Children of Hope for several years as a part of missions trips with Valor Christian High School, where she worked as a high school counselor. Trish joined the Children of Hope team in July 2025, and has a passion for serving the children and staff at the Kitalale and Kikuyu homes. Trish and her husband, Davin, live in Colorado with their four children.
Mitch Schoenbeck

Mitch Schoenbeck
Mitch Schoenbeck is an Account Executive at a software company with a background in vocational ministry. He’s deeply passionate about the next generation and seeks avenues to invest in them, whether globally through Children of Hope or locally, like playing basketball with kids next door. Mitch loves to hunt and fish, and together with his wife, Maddie, loves to play, dream of new ideas, and live into the adventure of knowing God and being loved by Him.
